We are looking for a Underwriter, General Aviation (M/F/d), based in London.

**Your Team**

The general Aviation team at **Allianz Commercial**is based in London and part of a global network of specialists. We underwrite complex aviation risks from private aircraft to commercial fleets delivering tailored solutions for our clients. Known for our technical expertise, collaborative spirit, and supportive culture, we work closely together and with the wider market to drive innovation and maintain Allianz Commercial’s leadership in aviation insurance.

**The Impact You Will Have**
- Reporting to the Underwriting Manager for general Aviation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our aviation portfolio. You’ll work directly with clients and brokers to craft bespoke insurance solutions, driving profitable growth while strengthening key relationships and forging new ones.
- With responsibility for both new and renewal business across regional and global markets, you'll influence strategic underwriting decisions negotiating terms, pricing, and participation to ensure long-term success. This is a unique opportunity to elevate your underwriting career while helping Allianz Commercial reinforce its position as a global leader in aviation insurance.

**Some of your specific responsibilities could include**:
**In this role you will**- Underwrite in line with the Aviation governance framework, including Underwriting Authorities, Global MSU, and established guidelines, rules, and principles- Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at the time of inception- Actively engage relevant functions in the underwriting process, including Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, and Operations- Contribute to the development and execution of the regional underwriting strategy for Aviation- Build and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and stakeholders, including risk managers- Ensure accurate and timely policy documentation is issued, either directly or via producers

**What**You’ll** Bring to the Role**- You have a degree in Engineering, Economics or other appropriate discipline- Ideally you are CII qualified or equivalent- You have solid experience underwriting profitable business in the Aviation segment of large corporate international insurance, with a special focus on General Aviation- You have recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and are well established within the market- You have a specialised understanding of regional / local Aviation insurance markets and competitor landscape- You can leverage data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective- You are able to assess risk inherent exposures, business interruption and natural hazards- You create relationships and communicate at all levels and with a wide range of people- You have the ability to persuade and motivate others to act, without executive authority- You embrace agile working and engage in constant learning, to adapt to internal and external customer needs- You are willing to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization is expected.
