Prescribing Clerk

**About the Role**:
The main responsibilities of the role include:

- Searching and processing repeat prescription requests for acute medications.
- Identifying specials and high quantities on prescriptions.
- Seeking alternative medications for those unavailable/shortages etc.
- Switching medications to the most cost-effective brands in line with local and national medicines policies.
- Monitoring & reviewing prescribing of OTC and low value medications.
- Aligning quantities.
- Synchronising medications.
- Medicine’s reconciliation for complex hospital discharges and patients with multiple medication changes.
- Identifying new dispensing patients.
- Identifying medication review patients.
- Handling high risk drug requests.
- Supporting care homes with medication queries, ordering processes and medicines waste.
