Our lovely, sensitive 6-year-old client loves to climb and spin and enjoys watching TV. She has an ABI, and her ASD causes sensory issues so we are looking for a serene carer who has previous experience with these diagnoses’ and will understand what is needed to ensure that our client flourishes and remains as happy, calm and independent as possible.

**The Role/Client**:
Our client lives with her parents, younger sibling and family pets which include two dogs, cats and several chickens who live outside. She has a diagnosis of ASD which presents as significant sensory needs, so she requires a calm, quiet environment.

Our client is non-verbal but able to communicate by the hand leading and is starting to use PECS, she does not have any mobility issues. Some assistance may be required with meal preparation/cooking, our client is able to feed herself. Full personal care would be required in the role.

As you will understand, due to our client’s conditions, she can sometimes become frustrated which can lead to disruptive and sometimes physical behavior when she is in an unfamiliar situation or where she feels dysregulated, however, full training will be given on how these episodes are managed to enable her to feel calm, comfortable and regulated once again.

**About You**:

- You will ideally have one year’s experience in ABI and ASD care.
- You will be a caring and friendly individual who can conduct yourself in a serene manner and learn the bespoke communication requirements of the family home as is needed by our client due to her sensory needs.
- You will be aware of times when our client needs time on her own but also vigilant to her care needs during these times.
- You will be a driver with a full UK license, able to drive our client’s manual Motability car to enable her to access the community/medical appointments. Client insurance will only cover drivers over 25 years of age.
- The family has two friendly dogs, cats and chickens so you will be an animal lover with no allergies and understand that part of the role will be to interact with the family pets.

**Pay**:
£16.00 per hour Weekdays / £18.00 per hour Weekends.

**Hours / Shifts available**:
Saturday & Sunday - 9:00 am - 7.30 pm on alternate weekends (one full weekend off every other weekend)

Monday - Friday - 3.00 pm - 7.30pm (with an option to increase hours in school holidays 9:00 am - 7.30 pm)
