Are you an enthusiastic Cardiology Nurse looking for progression and a new challenge in a band 6 role? The Cardiac Care Ward at DCH has an exciting opportunity to recruit into a 23 hour per week band 6 role.

Dorset County Hospital has 2 Cardiac Catheter Labs and an 8 bedded Cardiac day ward/recovery which we work closely alongside. We undertake a number of cardiology procedures such as PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention), Primary PCI, Diagnostic Angiography, ICD, Bi-Ventricular and Pacemaker Implants and Transoesophageal Echo’s.

You will be responsible for coordinating and managing the care of 18 patients which includes a 4 bedded level 2 Coronary Care area. The successful applicants will be expected to have up to date and relevant Cardiology experience of at least 2 years post registration.

An understanding of NICE guidance, protocol based practice and evidence of leadership qualities is essential.

The successful applicants will have valid UK NMC registration.

**Our working day is currently**:
Day shift 07.30-20.00hrs

Night shift 19.30-08.00hrs.

The post holder will be expected to work a variety of shifts including days, nights and weekends with occasional supervisory duties.

You will be expected to deputise in the absence of the Band 7 ward leader and this will involve, roster changes, sickness management, working with the Cardiology Matron, managing potentially complex and difficult situations which may involve patients, families and staff.
