AUTISM SUPPORT WORKER RECRUITMENT

**Resources for Autism: An Introduction**

Our organisation’s vision is a world where people with autism are able to live fulfilling lives, with equal chances to those of their neurotypical peers. For over 20 years, we have provided practical support for people on the autism spectrum and for those who love and care for them. From 1:1 support to group activities, therapy sessions, from parent and sibling groups to holiday play schemes, we aim to give those whom we support a better and happier life.

We deliver services for a number of local authorities across both London and the West Midlands.

If you are all of those things, you are on your way to being a great **AUTISM SUPPORT WORKER**.

As an Autism Support Worker, you will become part of the lives of our service users and their families and make a change.

You may be part of a team who every week, plays and supports our service users in a fixed setting.

You may be part of the team of community support workers who support our service users in their homes and local community.

At Resources for Autism, we look beyond education certificates and diplomas (although those are super too)

Supported by a highly skilled and knowledgeable team, you will be able to work with confidence in any scenario.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN AUTISM SUPPORT WORKER**:

- Speaking on a weekly or more frequent basis to vulnerable families who cannot have face to face support due to self-isolation.
- Plan and support a child or adult with autism and help them reach their potential, either in a group, at home or online, in a professional and caring manner. Full guidance will be given on how to observe social distancing and
- Be reliable and punctual when working
- Actively plan and join in play and youth activities including swimming, ball games, messy play and music
- Be prepared to communicate differently with a wide range of people
- Keep records and write reports when required
- Ensure the highest level of safety and safeguarding at all times
- Work with the team to ensure you successfully pass your probation, attend the online or face to face training which is required and maintain a professional attitude at all times.

This is work for across all our services at Resources for Autism: Community Support and Club/Holiday Settings

We are happy to hear form applicants looking for full or part time work.

All positions include working at least one weekend day every weekend.

Hourly pay: £9.49 (this rises after successfully passing probation)

When working in the community, travel time is paid between families
