NOW Careers are currently recruiting for a Sales Engineer position for our manufacturing client in Pontypool.
This is a permanent, full time, working from home position (working 36.5 hours a week)
The purpose of the role is to provide excellent level of technical sales knowledge to provide advice and support on the range of the company's products that is suitable to both new and existing clients.
At all times carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the company’s Policies and Procedures.
**General Job Duties inc lude**:
Health and Safety
- To ensure safe working practices are observed and the Health and Safety Policy is adhered to always
- Reporting any hazards or incidents to the appropriate Safety representative.
- To maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times
Customer Service
- Representing the business with a positive attitude when speaking with customers in person or over the telephone
- Adhering to agreed customer time frames and deadlines for bids, technical clarification and proposal related support
**Specific Duties**:
- Build and develop long term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements
- Persuade clients that the company's product best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
- Liaise with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
- Participating in Sales Team meetings
- Meet regular team targets
- Follow up any leads and or quotes for potential new clients in a timely manner
- Work closely with the design team to ensure products is designed to specification that has been agreed with clients
- Assist colleagues in the tendering of new contracts
- Assist when appropriate in supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows and other marketing events
- Preparing of compliant bids along with technical and commercial deviations
- Clear and concise hand over of successful bids to projects team covering technical, commercial, documentation and quality requirements
Essential
- A background in technical sales and negotiation, with confident liaison skills with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience of using databases, and be confident in using Excel, demonstrating numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in person, telephone and written
- Excellent Customer Service Skills, with the ability to use discretion, patience, tact and respect for confidentiality
- Experience of working to conflicting and tight deadlines
Desired
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of CAD/ Technical drawings
- An understanding of HVAC engineering
- Demonstrable mechanical and technical skills
