This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant Technologist to join our busy, but super-friendly Technical Team covering a wide remit of own-brand baby and children’s clothing plus also offering the opportunity to learn and work on areas such as nursery products, toys and furniture.

You will work closely with our design and buying teams, making sure our designs are developed to high quality and safety standards and produced to schedule. We will provide support and training to help you grow within your role.

You will be currently working as an Assistant Technologist or equivalent with either a lifestyle retailer or supplier background (or both) and are looking to broaden your skills and experience in the variety and complexity of product you tackle. This role is perfect for someone who will enjoy the challenge of working on a diverse product range. You will be used to working with high quality product and directly with factories in the far east.

**A day in the life**:

- Liaising with the design department to issue specifications & grading charts. Being alert to compliance concerns from initial concept.
- Driving your own schedules & priorities, attending production meetings to ensure Critical Path is on track.
- Measuring and fitting garments commissioning further samples as required. Liaising with factories and design and buying teams to ensure development is progressing effectively.
- Sealing final samples and approving shipment samples before goods are released from factory.
- Supporting the team in controlling production delivery, liaising with Quality Control in DC.
- Updating own knowledge and self-training on legislation & guidelines regarding safety standards.
- Ensuring appropriate labelling and care information is actioned.
- Ensuring any green claims or claims on sustainability can be traced and evidenced.
- Ensuring required testing is actioned and approved for UK and other countries as necessary - including organising necessary samples, instructing testing, reviewing, approving, and filing results.
- Reviewing, approving, and filing test reports, setting standards for suppliers to follow, and dealing with test failures, maintaining records.
- Ensuring key spreadsheets and documentation is completed and communicated.
- Supporting other Technologists as appropriate.

- Good understanding of the clothing critical path.
- Great communication skills with the ability to liaise with all departments within JoJo and our supply base.
- Confidence using Excel and similar spreadsheets for the role.
- You’ll have the knack to work quickly and always to a very high standard with fantastic organisational skills and high attention to detail.
- Proven effective time management and an aptitude to learn whilst in the role.
- Good understanding of garment construction, fitting approval and fabric testing.
- You’ll enjoy working under pressure and working to deadlines.
- You’ll be resilient to a changing and agile environment
