Catering Assistant

22.5 hours per week

£10.14 to £10.70 per hour with enhanced pay at the weekends and bank holidays

To work 3 days over 7 on a rota (alternate weekends)

Sue Ryder are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant to join our amazing team at Sue Ryder Neurological Care Centre Lancashire. As a Catering Assistant you will assist in the provision of meals and refreshments, and the maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment.

We provide specialist neurological care, rehabilitation and support tailored to the individual needs of people with a range of neurological conditions.

About the role:

- Assist in the preparation of meals and refreshments
- Assist in serving meals and refreshments
- Wash up used utensils, pans and crockery in the dishwasher, hand washing certain items as appropriate
- Clean kitchen work surfaces, equipment, floors, fridges, freezers and other storage cupboards in line with cleaning schedules and record as instructed
- Ensure all equipment is stored away and the kitchen left clean and tidy at the end of each shift
- Reporting of equipment faults in line with local procedures
- Monitoring and reporting supplies requirements
- Report repair and maintenance needs
- Report supplies needs

About you:

- Level 2 food hygiene certificate or willing and able to complete within 2 weeks of employment commencement.
- NVQ / SVQ Level 2 general catering desirable
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing essential
- IT literacy desirable
- Able to work within policies and procedures
