Associate Director Mental Health
This role will lead on the newly created Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West (BOB) Integrated Care System (ICS) Mental Health Provider Collaborative, between Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (OHFT) and Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT), in partnership with BOB Integrated Care Board (ICB). The BOB ICS Mental Health Provider Collaborative has been selected as one of the 9 national Provider Collaboratives part of the Provider Collaborative Innovator Scheme. This role is thus a great opportunity to take part in a national programme of work to explore and codify the benefits that provider collaboration can deliver for patients.
The Provider Collaborative is in its initial development phase, with significant ambition to derive the benefits of closer work between the two provider organisations but also to work with system partners at both ICS and Place levels to oversee the delivery of the Mental Health Programme for BOB ICB. To enable this cross-sector work, a BOB ICS Mental Health Partnership Board is being set up, led by the Provider Collaborative.
The anticipated role of the Provider Collaborative will include working in close partnership with BOB ICB to discharge the ICB function for delivery and oversight of the NHS Mental Health Programme, as well as working with partners across sectors to drive the transformation work of Mental Health Services.
Interviews are planned for 3rd July (virtual) and 5th July (face to face).
The Associate Director is responsible in OHFT for overseeing the development of the BOB ICS Mental Health Provider Collaborative, created between OHFT and BHFT and in partnership with BOB ICB. The postholder will work closely with the Programme Director leading on this work for BHFT, with the BOB ICS Executive Lead and BOB SRO for Mental Health. A key part of the role will be to establish roles and responsibilities and ways of working between the partner organisations.
The Associate Director will lead for OHFT both on the development of the Provider Collaborative but also on the development and delivery of the Mental Health Programme for the ICS as part of the BOB ICS Mental Health Partnership.
To reflect the cross-directorate nature of the role, that operates across both of the Trust’s Mental Health Directorates, the postholder will be responsible to the Executive Director of Strategy and Partnerships and the role hosted by the Strategy team. The role is however part of the Senior management Team (SMT) for both of the Mental Health Directorates and accountable to the Service and Clinical Directors for these Directorates as well as to the Executive Managing Director for Mental Health and Learning and Disability. The Associate Director is also responsible for contributing significantly to the overall Directorates strategy/policy to ensure that the Trust delivers its quality, people, finance and performance objectives.

- Internal ways of working within OHFT for the Provider Collaborative are established, defining governance, programme of work and roles and responsibilities in relation to the Provider Collaborative for the two Mental Health directorates and within other relevant directorates of the Trust.
- A governance and programme of work is agreed for the Provider Collaborative (at ICS-level and working across the three Places of the ICS).
