Junior Edition is an ethical family run children's concept store. Over the past 7 years we have expanded significantly to become one of the UK's largest independent online retailers of ethically manufactured design led children's clothing, toys and homewares. In addition to our online store we also have a beautiful bricks and mortar store in the North Laine of Brighton.

We are excited to be offering the opportunity to take on a new part time bookkeeper and financial officer to join our dynamic team. The position will be primarily based at our new purpose built Newhaven warehouse facility. The contract will be for 8-10 hours per week and can be either worked hour per week in either 1 full day or can be spread over several days.

**Responsibilities**:

- Review and post purchase invoices to Xero using Dext software
- Review and post sales information to Xero from Stripe for online sales and from till recording systems for shop sales
- Perform bank, sales and purchase ledger reconciliations using Xero software.
- Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns
- Ensure accounting information is complete, correct, and up to date to be submitted quarterly to external accountant
- Review and monitor purchase invoices to ensure prompt payment.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- AAT qualification in bookkeeping
- Experience of accounting for VAT on imports and exports of goods
- Experience with Online sales
- Experience with Xero accounting software
- Understanding of Dext software
- Understanding Stripe payments
- Understanding Transferwise (Wise)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 8-10 per week

**Salary**: £15.00 per hour

**Experience**:
