The Role: NRSWA Compliance Engineer
Location: Stratford Upon Avon

**Salary**: £45 - 55,000 plus benefits / company vehicle / Healthcare
We are looking to recruit a NRSWA compliance engineer, ideally from the telecoms sector (But we've got flexibility to consider highways / utilities) who can support client side network build programmes across the West Midlands region. This will mainly be afield based position, and will work closely alongside the streetworks manager.
This will be working for a rapid growth full fibre network owner who are coming at things with a different slant.
This particular position will mainly be focused on the compliance side of the build, so inspecting the quality of civils and subsequent reinstatement and then working with the contractors to see that quality is of the required standard. You'll be looking atdefects, signing, lighting and guarding (SLG) and general traffic management issues.
The aim of the role, is to work with / educate the contractors so it's someone who can talk to the gangs / contractors and work with them, rather than an old school sergeant major type who will be looking to stop work at any given opportunity, but complianceis key and it's following legislation / guidelines in accordance with NRSWA, Traffic Management Act and the Highways Act.
It's a field based role with plenty of variety so the role will involve following-up on defective reinstatements, ensuring that remedial works are carried out to the required standard and attending site meetings where defects are disputed.
You'll carry out site occupancy inspections, identifying sites where works have overrun the permitted duration, taking photographic evidence and following up until the site is clear ensuring the principal contractor is aware of these issues and then it's theeducation of all parties to ensure that any issues don't repeat.
Your background:
It's about compliance and inspection, rather than build so the key will be substantial experience of working with utility companies or in a streetworks environment. 3rd party management will be key, with an attitude about education and a firm but fair style.
NRSWA certified with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Street Manager with a working knowledge of traffic regulation orders and you'll also need a full driving licence, as role comes with a vehicle.
This is going to be a fast moving delivery programme but with a strong eye on quality, and this is a new role to further support the expanding build and you'll work closely with the National streetworks manager. Key point is the chance to join the businessfairly early, help to play a part in the scalability and process and then hopefully be in a strong position in the coming future as they continue to grow in the UK but with a strong eye on the West Midlands programme area.
