Contracted Hours: 24hours per week

Days worked : Sat and Sunday

Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour

G4S is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team at The Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), ensuring the safety and security of our premises and personnel within the heart of Belfast City Centre. This is a vital role in maintaining a secure environment for our operations and the community we serve.

**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct regular patrols of NIHE properties and surrounding areas in Belfast City Centre.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, promptly reporting and responding to any suspicious activity or incidents.
- Control access to buildings, verifying identification and maintaining accurate visitor logs.
- Respond to security breaches, alarms, and emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
- De-escalate situations involving challenging individuals and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Complete detailed incident reports and daily logs of all security-related activities.
- Collaborate with local authoirites and emergency services as required.
- Ensure compliance with all security policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Provide assistance and information to staff and visitors as needed.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- SIA Licence (Door Supervision and/or Security Guarding) is essential.
- Previous experience in a security role, preferably within a corporate or public sector environment.
- Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency procedures.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Proficiency in written English for accurate report writing.
- Basic IT skills for operating security systems and completing digital logs.
- First Aid certification is desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills
