To attend to the kitchen and food delivery providing hungry customers an excellent service and experience at The Torr Vale Tap
**The Role**:
We seek hard working and passionate kitchen staff for our bistro bar, the Torr Vale Tap at Torr Vale Mill. If you have a passion for food, we’d love you to join our growing hospitality team at the iconic Torr Vale Mill.
Torr Vale Mill is a Grade II* listed building and destination location, much of which has recently been renovated to include a bar, events floor, offices and retail units and holiday accommodation. With the bar team, you will be delivering and efficient bar and food service to our customers and guests.
We are looking for kitchen staff to join our kitchen team, supporting ever-growing team in delivering excellent customer experience with a high-quality product. With a passion for the industry and as part of a growing and dynamic team, together our commitment will make Torr Vale Mill an even greater success.
**Requirements**:
- A passion for Hospitality and food delivery to customers
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills
- An interest in self-development
- Ability to cope well under pressure and multi-task
- Knowledgeable of various cooking methods, ingredients and procedures
- Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Knowledge of food production and catering
- Trustworthy and reliable
- Able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and bank holidays
**Duties of the role include but is not limited to**:
- Good knowledge of food operations in a bar setting
- support the kitchen lead in the planning and organisation of all food operations daily
- Be able to prioritise tasks and demonstrate effective time management
- To have a strong product knowledge to allow confidence in food preparation
- To work in a busy environment, demonstrating confidence and self-motivation.
- Ensure flawless food hygiene standards are kept and follow organisational systems
- To prepare meals in accordance with recipe, food hygiene and allergen control requirements and presentation
- undertake stock rotation where required
- Ensure the kitchen is cleaned to agreed company standards
- Overseeing deliveries
- Maintaining accurate records of food inventory, preparation, and waste for their section of the kitchen
- HACCP and H&S implementation, knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- To report maintenance issues and manage maintenance contractors on site
- To follow accident and incident reporting procedures
- offer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve the kitchen’s performance
- Other duties as assigned
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: Up to £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
