**RECEPTIONIST (Northampton)**

We are one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatients appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to make a positive difference to people’s lives through better sight and eye health.

We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen for our new service that has recently opened in Northampton, for a receptionist to join the team and help us deliver outstanding clinical care for our patients.

We are looking for someone who will thrive on working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Clinic Assistants, Ophthalmic Assistants, Patient Administrators, Nurses, ODPs, Ophthalmic Technicians, Optometrists, and Consultant Ophthalmologists. - A salary of £20,598.

**What will the role involve?**
- Welcoming patients and visitors.
- Point of contact for telephone enquiries from patients.
- Booking of patient appointments, ensuring clinics are fully utilised.
- Make reminder calls to patients in a timely manner prior to their appointment.
- Maintaining a positive relationship with internal or external staff at every interaction.
- Work closely with colleagues ensuring the smooth flow of patient information between the administration and clinical teams.
- Management of patient data ensuring availability, required accuracy and confidentiality.
- Producing and providing letters to patients.
- Acting as a point of contact for patients and relatives attending appointments.
- Manage deliveries, communicating arrival of goods and assist in storing in correct area.
- Maintaining the reception and foyer area, ensuring cleanliness and good sanitation.
- Ensure good stock levels of required paperwork, stationery and sanitation products within the reception area.
- Championing patient feedback forms being issued and completed by patients and/or their relatives.
- To undertake other ad-hoc administrative tasks as required to assist any other teams within the service.

**What skills and experience do I need for the role?**

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION
- Educated to A level standard or equivalent.
- GCSE Maths and English

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
- Exceptional administrator who can understand and deliver within a complex working environment.
- Good organisation skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Enjoys working with a range of people and is able to tailor their approach to a diversity of patient needs.
- Outstanding telephone manner with the ability to adapt approach to different situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Committed to delivery of consistently high standards of administration.
- Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative, as well as working well within a team.
- Enjoys the routine and rhythm of a process driven environment.
- Comfortable making a significant contribution in a small team.
- Able to balance working independently with appropriate escalation.
- Committed to delivery of consistently high standards of testing and administration.

SKILLS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Proven customer service skills with a passion for customer care.
- Proven administrative skills including the ability to follow processes.
- Excellent computer skills. Comfortable with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new patient record systems.
