We are proud to be part of many of the countries major civil engineering projects, and we have an exciting opportunity for a **Casting Supervisor** to join our team.
As the **Casting Supervisor** you will plan work activities for a team of casters, ensuring that daily/weekly production is cast as planned. Safely, within specification and within allocated budgets.
**General Duties**
Planning the activities of the casters, including liaising with other departmental supervisors & management to ensure a safe & tidy working environment compliant with company specification to meet company and client requirements
Ensuring that all manufactured product is stored safely and available for finishing processes as quickly as possible to ensure production areas run efficiently
Communicating and co-ordinating with the associated logistics, finishing & QC teams to ensure that the product is available on time and within specification
Ensuring legislative and company health and safety laws and rules are complied with by all members of the team at all times. Assist with the development and delivery of risk assessments and SSoW to ensure all tasks within the factory areas are suitably covered by procedures, and all personnel operate to the safe systems of work at all times.
Ensuring high standards of housekeeping and Health & Safety are achieved and maintained at all times
Ensuring productivity targets are monitored and achieved by ensuring accurate allocation of labour hours and reviewing this data against the production budget
Monitoring and inspecting drawings prior to ordering of goods to identify and achieve potential cost savings, advising management and procurement accordingly.
Monitoring and inspecting raw material deliveries for accuracy and communicating with the procurement department on supplier performance, identifying any shortcomings in a timely manner to avoid an impact on the production schedule
Organising and supervising PC element storage principles and practices within the casting areas, liaising with others to ensure the PC elements are removed from the factory to facilitate continued production
Working with the management team to identify and implement improvement opportunities in working practices and productivity performance
Organise the daily work allocation of all personnel under your control
Holding daily briefing meetings with your team to ensure smooth running of the department
Deliver tool box talks and training as necessary to ensure all work activities are conducted safely
Maintain discipline within the team
Assist in the training and development of all personnel operating under the casting operations, ensuring all personnel are trained and competent to use equipment and plant, manage the safe use and storage of all equipment within the casting areas
Proactively communicating with the management team to identify and resolve any arising or identified issues, attend daily briefing meetings.
