**Job Overview**:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Commercial Assistant to join our dynamic commercial department, providing day to day support to the commercial team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in quantity surveying and estimating by providing day to day assistance to the commercial team.

Reporting to: Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyors.

**Key Duties**:

- Manage project documentation to enable the smooth operation of the commercial department and minimise financial risk to the business.
- Monitor and record Variation Order requests submitted by the operations team.
- Liaise with Contracts Managers to understand extent and scope of works requested, to enable accurate pricing of VOs.
- Calculate cost of the works requested to be carried out with support from the Quantity Surveyors.
- Prepare and submit quotations to the client’s QS asking for formal authorisation to proceed with the works quoted.
- Update the internal database to track quotes outstanding, quotes in progress, quotes submitted, and quotes approved.
- Assist in the creation of bills of quantities (BoQs) from plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Contact suppliers to obtain latest pricing information.
- Assist Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyors in handling client enquiries related to cost, billing, and changes in scope of works.
- Use specialist software to check, compare, measure, and mark up drawings for quotations and to support the commercial and estimating processes.
- Build and Maintain relationships with new and existing clients representing TML in a professional manner.
- Contribute to the development of commercial processes to improve flow of information across the business.
- Assisting with ad-hoc tasks to enable the smooth running of the commercial team.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required to discuss commercial and operational issues.

**Skills Required**:

- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
