**Head of Valuation & Asset Management**

**Location: Medway (Office/Hybrid Working)**

**Length of contract: 3 months (with possibility of extension)**

**IR35 Status: Inside**

**A highly renowned local authority is seeking a Head of Valuation & Asset Management to lead, manage and coordinate the organisations estates, valuation and asset management planning service and ensure it is well coordinated.**

**_ Key Responsibilities_**
- Manage the organisations’ assets, undertaking inter departmental projects and, where required, develop cross directorate, and inter agency working to benefit the community
- Explain Directorate and Corporate direction and encourage appropriate behaviours within the estates, valuation, and asset management planning service
- Lead a programme of disposals in accordance with targets set within the capital investment strategy and asset management plan
- To act as the principal lead for property, devising and developing strategies to manage the estate, acquisitions, and disposals
- Ensure the estates and valuation service, including lease and tenant management, disposals and acquisitions, valuations, rating work and other work and its support systems is responsive to the needs of all stakeholders
- Direct the creation of the investment strategy and asset management plan.
- Be the principal contact for internal and external contacts in relation to all matters related to disposal acquisition, valuation, rating and management of the leased estate
- Provide professional direction to directorates, Members and liaise with tenants or their representatives
- Manage the estates and valuation services property ownership and management systems
- Develop the systems to produce information on the performance of the asset, including directing the rolling programme of asset valuations
- Lead property support to all Best Value reviews, providing professional property advice and guidance in the use of the organisation’s assets and to direct implementation programmes in pursuit of policy objectives

**_ Key Requirements_**
- Deep valuation and asset management expertise
- Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with 7+ years’ experience
- Previous experience within a similar role in a local authority
