**Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant**

**Location: M13**

**Pay Rates: £83 - £91 a day**

**Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday**

Core Teachers are currently supporting a **mainstream** **primary school** in **the M13 area** to find a **1:1 Teaching Assistant **to work with a child in **Year 3** with ADHD. A delightful little boy with a big personality who just needs some support making the right choices and staying focused.

The School are work together to ensure that pupils receive a high quality education which develops a love of learning and a range of life skills, delivered in a safe and nurturing environment. Staff actively encourage a warm, happy atmosphere that enables children to feel secure, and helps them to strive towards their individual goals.

**1:1 Teaching Assistant responsibilities**:

- To work on a **1:1 basis** with an SEN child, directed by the class teacher and/or SENCo, to **support in all areas of learning**
- To **establish a supportive, caring and secure relationship** with the child, **promoting respect, self-esteem** and a **positive, inclusive** whole school ethos
- To **develop knowledge and understanding** of the specific academic, emotional and behavioural needs of the child and **respond to them effectively**
- To help, **support and motivate** the child, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning and behaviour, enabling learning targets and outcomes to be achieved
- To contribute to monitoring and recording pupil progress, maintaining records and **providing relevant feedback to teachers**
- To provide **wellbeing support** to the child ensuring needs are met throughout the day

**Qualification/experience**:

- **Qualifications**: Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma are desirable.
- **Skills**: Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents.
- **Attributes**: A passion for supporting children’s education, a proactive approach, and a willingness to adapt to different school environments.
- **Safeguarding**: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
