Middlesbrough College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lecturer in English to join our team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality education and help learners develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed for success in life and work.
**What You’ll Be Doing**:
As a Lecturer in English, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging English Lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to support learner progress.
- Deliver and assess GCSE and Functional Skills English from entry level to level 2.
- Provide pastoral support and contribute to the tutorial programme.
- Maintain accurate records and support internal verification processes.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety across all activities.
- Participate in curriculum development, team meetings, and college-wide events.
**What We’re Looking For**:
- Are qualified Teachers.
- Hold a relevant Degree, or equivalent.
- Have GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
- Have relevant experience in teaching GCSE and Functional Skills English ranging from Entry Level to Level 2 and experience of delivering exam-based qualifications.
- Have experience of providing pastoral support, e.g. personal tutor, wellbeing support to learners - desirable.
