There are three multi-disciplinary early intervention service teams covering the Lancashire footprint in which the therapists are integrated, offering input into the multi-disciplinary teams. The post is based at the North Team (The Gateway, Blackpool Football Stadium, Blackpool).
We are really excited about these newly developed posts and are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed individuals to join a well-established Early Intervention Service. The Lancashire Early Intervention Service (EIS) specialises in working with individuals aged 14 and upwards who are at risk of, or currently experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
The team provides a range of specialist psychological interventions including Family Interventions, the applicant would require some competencies and confidence in one model such as Behaviour Family Therapy, Cognitive Family Therapy etc.
The Lancashire Early Intervention Service is based within the Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Network of Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust.
- To contribute to a high quality specialist family therapy service to service users and families with complex emotional and mental health needs as part of the Early Intervention Service.
- To provide specialist assessment, formulation and therapy within the service.
- To offer advice, consultancy and supervision, under supervision of the Senior Psychological Therapist, and support the work of colleagues providing care and treatment, according to expertise.
- To provide training to a range of qualified and unqualified staff across mental health areas, as agreed.
- To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
- To be involved in service developments, as appropriate.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
