Step into Teaching have a great opportunity to spend a full academic year as a graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant working in a wonderful Secondary School based in Bristol (BS13). The school creates a happy and secure learning environment where all students’ needs are met and where achievements along with successes are recognised and praised.

All staff are highly ambitious; therefore, the headteacher is looking for someone who is passionate about supporting their students and ensure every student reaches their full potential by having high expectations for all.

**The opportunity**:

- SEN Learning Support Assistant
- **£450 - £490 weekly - term time only**:

- Secondary School based in Bristol (BS13)
- Full time role (Monday - Friday) for the full academic year
- Start ASAP until July 2025
- Gain classroom experience first before training to become a teacher

**Job Specification**:

- Hold/Predicted a degree (2:2 or above)
- Previous experience working with young people with learning difficulties (**preferred but not essential)**:

- Be passionate about supporting children with their learning
- Be enthusiastic, friendly and confident
- Have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities
- Must be able to relate well to young people and adults and have some understanding of the range of needs of young people with learning difficulties
- Be able to work effectively in a team

**Key responsibilities within the role**:

- Attend to pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes (must be comfortable taking both girls and boys to the toilet)
- Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
- Building and maintaining successful relationships with students, whilst treating them with respect and consideration
- Have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress
- Ensure that every pupil is ready for the next steps in their learning and is supported to participate and contribute to
