Data Protection Trainer

HCPA are now recruiting a Data Protection Trainer and Coordinator to join the team. The aim of this position is to design, prepare and deliver data protection education to care providers and others within the social care sector and maintain good GDPR practiceinternally at HCPA. It is an exciting position for you to extend your knowledge in data protection, information governance and cyber security training skills.

Hertfordshire Care Providers Association (HCPA) is a unique award-winning company set up to support adult care providers within Hertfordshire to raise quality standards of care. We are a non-profit member’s association. We support over 500 care organisationsto improve the quality of care they provide across a variety of projects such as staff training and providing information and guidance. We also provide additional services and projects such as Recruitment, Impartial Feedback services and the Stop Falls Campaign.

**What does the role of Data Protection Trainer and Coordinator involve?**

- Design, prepare and deliver data protection education to care providers and others within the social care sector
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to review education and resources to best fit needs
- Work collaboratively with the DSPT Team to provide education in line with the overall project timeline
- Network with external partners and sector-specific groups to share knowledge, represent HCPA’s interests and build own knowledge and CPD
- Develop and support the DSPT team in the development of resources and guidance for stakeholders in the sector
- Support with the capturing of evaluation to show the impact and effectiveness of education
- Support managing internal data protection matters, including completion of asset registers
- Work with the Operations team to ensure all education administration is completed accurately and in good time for all courses
- Work with the Quality Team to ensure courses are mapped to appropriate standards and support with the overall self-assessment and quality improvement within the team
- Any other tasks as required for data protection team
**Am I the right person for the Data Protection Trainer and Coordinator position?**

If you share our vision and values and have a passion for improving the quality of care, then this could be the role for you. Training experience is preferred but an understanding of good practice around GDPR and a passion to get this right is a must. Youwill also need to have:

- Familiarity with legal requirements regarding data protection and information governance
- Experience in working in data protection, information governance and/or cyber risk management
- Experience in providing training to learners at all levels
- Own transport with insurance for business use for travel in Hertfordshire
- Great interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both written, verbal and IT
- Be excellent at autonomous research
- Adaptability in different training environments and willingness to deliver education both online and face to face
- A willingness to learn new skills, complete relevant qualifications as requested by the Relationships Project Manager and develop current knowledge
