Vision teaching are currently supporting an outstanding all through special needs school based in Kingston. This school has a lovely, green environment, with animals such as chickens walking about to brighten your day They are extremely supportive and canoffer temp to perm roles. They have pupils aged from 9-19 years old, there is positions available in all age groups so if you are looking for primary or secondary based roles, we have these both available. Many students have mild to moderate autism spectrumdisorders, language impairments, emotional needs, sensory needs, and some medical needs. They are looking for full time special needs teaching assistants to join them on a long-term basis. You will have the opportunity to earn a permanent position with theschool for successful applicants. This role will start in September and will be full time 5 days a week.

What we need:

- Child & Adult DBS on the update service or willing to apply
- Free 5 days per week
- Can commit to working hours of 8.30am till 4pm
- Available to start in September
- Experience with SLD, MLD and related learning disabilities
- Flexible with age groups (preferred not essential)

About the school:
The majority of students come from mainstream Primary Schools where they have been supported 1:1 by an adult, mostly on a full-time basis. The adult to student ratio at the school makes this unnecessary as class sizes are between 8-10 students.

An array of enrichment opportunities is provided within and beyond the school day; for example, residential trips in Years 8, 10 and Post-16 and after school activity clubs.

Independence, key to the underlying ethos of the school, is supported and developed through a life skills programme, travel training and work experience.

The Post-16 provision caters for those young people who have not yet gained sufficient independence or confidence to transfer to a further education (FE) college environment at the end of Year 11. Their curriculum is designed to develop functional life skillsrather than the attainment of higher level qualifications.

We provide significant emotional support through our well-being and emotional support team; providing individual targeted 'counselling', Play Therapy and Dramatherapy.

Students' academic progress is monitored every 6 weeks. Any concerns are referred to the school's Cognition and Learning Team for further insight, advice and guidance.
