**This role will involve**:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer in our North East London water production sites You will be carrying out planned maintenance on all our Mechanical assets on our various sites. This role will involve at times, fault finding, diagnosing, and fixingcritical asset failures.
**Main duties**:
- Working on various pumps, involved in water transfer within water treatment works and transmission of water throughout the network as well as smaller chemical dosing pumps
- Investigating mechanical plant failures and carrying out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to avoid interruptions for our customers. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures in order to improve plant resilience
- Providing technical advice to the wider team, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and providing training or support for technical trainees if required
- Participation in a 24/7 out of hours’ standby Rota will be required after a suitable period of training and assessment
**We’re looking for you to have**:
- A time served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical systems. With NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering with an upskill qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3 is essential.
- Experience working on large industrial plant equipment including various pumps within the utility industry would be beneficial
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are essential.
- A valid driving licence is essential and all necessary equipment such as vehicles and tools are provided
- Physically fit as you will work in confined spaces with successful completion of the appropriate training
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial
