Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.
We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.
There is an exciting opportunity to join CTPNW as Superintendent - Head of CTP Border Services North.
The Superintendent will have overall responsibility for CTP Border Services North, namely the National Borders Targeting Centre, Borders Terrorism Assessment Centre, and Causeway (the Common Travel Area Multi-Agency Hub). They will also be aligned to CTPNW and part of their Senior Officer Team, driving an effective and efficient CT response in the region. You will report to both the Head of CTPNW and Head of CT Borders/International Strategy.
CT Borders policing works in the ports environment alongside partners from the commercial sector, Border Force and the Intelligence Agencies to detect and protect the UK from terrorism.
This post is open to all substantive Superintendents and does not require previous CT experience.
This is a Developed Vetted post, which will need to be completed prior to starting in post.
The post holder can work from any of the 3 CTPNW geographical hubs; Manchester, Merseyside or Lancashire, however will have to travel across the North West and nationally as required.

**You must be a UK National to work for CTPNW.**In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be considered. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants will be required to hold or acquire the appropriate national security vetting clearance. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and therefore will not be able to perform their duties.
- Vetting Requirements
This is a designated post under the Force Vetting Strategy and the post will therefore applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) level before taking up the post.
For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.

- have no outstanding disciplines (not including complaints).
