Team Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Team Leader to join the Intensive Support Team (IST).

The IST is an established multi-disciplinary team of Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Care Coordinators, Nursing and Healthcare Assistants. The team focuses on proactive support to people with learning disabilities who are at risk of admission to inpatient care due to mental health or behaviours of concern as well as supporting clients to step-down from hospital to the community. The work includes direct interventions with service users, in addition to work with families and staff teams, using Trauma a informed approach. The team is also underpinned by Positive Behavioural Support approach and STOMP. Our valued team members support some of the most vulnerable people in society, demonstrating care and compassion and treating people as individuals.

IST work in close partnership with other teams within the Learning Disability Service and partnership agencies.

Ability to effectively commute between various Trust sites.

As a Band 7 Team Leader you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational management of the team and providing leadership in conjunction with the lead nurse.

You will contribute towards service development and work closely in partnership with service users, carers, professional leads and other partner agencies, across the teams/geographical areas.

You will be responsible for achieving key performance indicators for service delivery, as well as providing leadership and development through managerial supervision of the team.

The post holder will develop good working relationships within learning disability services and other partnership organisations across various sectors.

As a Band 7 Team Leader you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational management of the team and providing leadership in conjunction with the lead nurse.

You will be responsible for achieving key performance indicators for service delivery, as well as offering leadership and development through managerial supervision of the team.

Play a key role in initiating, implementing, and driving forward changes to service delivery, systems and processes.

Responsible for the identification and management of clinical/organisational risks within their area of responsibility through their involvement with a comprehensive risk assessment, action planning and monitoring process.

To lead and present complex, sensitive and challenging managerial and clinical communication processes that may impact on patients, carers, staff, the team, the organisation, partner agencies and members of the public, where there are barriers to understanding.
