Robert Half are excited to be exclusively retained to recruit a new Head of Finance Position for the Ardale/Marbrook Group. This new role will be based in Welwyn Garden City and will form part of the Senior Management Team, helping to drive the businessforward as they enter a new period of growth and prosperity.

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in a similar role withing and SME environment, have a proven track history developing business strategy, running an operational finance team, and making a positive contribution to operationalmanagement of the business.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Lead, control, oversee and be accountable for all financial operations, including financial control and operational systems
- Undertake strategic planning for future growth and development of the business through the cooperative creation of business and project plans
- Manage cash flow, financial reporting processes, and provide KPI data and commentary.
- Lead annual audit, taxation, and prepare and submit all statutory documents.
- Direct, line manage, lead, and develop the finance, payroll teams as required ensuring they are appropriately trained, motivated and perform
- Manage procurement by monitoring external contracts, leases, services, and utilities provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value
- Support peers in the finance related elements of their roles and functions within the businesses, by providing sound advice and guidance where required
- Implement and maintain a robust contracts/placement/admission agreements management
- Develop and maintain all relevant policies and procedures to enable management at all levels to carry out finance related functions efficiently
- Proactively search for new and better ways to reduce risk, increase efficiency, and reduce cost/overspend

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Proven work experience as a Head of Finance or similar role
- Experience of audit and process / controls improvement desirable
- In-depth understanding of cash flow management
- Hands-on experience with budgeting and forecasting models
- Strong IT knowledge and experience - ability to work with multiple operational and finance systems and data sets
- Solid understanding of payroll ideally has managed an in-house end-to-end payroll.
- Capable of managing multiple responsibilities and able to deliver to strict deadlines
- Solid analytical and decision-making skills and a meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to critique and challenge the 'numbers'

**Salary and Benefits**:
The position of Head of Finance is offered with a salary of £70,000 - £80,000 dependant on experience and is offered with Hybrid working, however fully office based for the initial period within the office.
