**What You'll Do as a Foster Carer**

Foster carers offer a stable and nurturing home for children who cannot live with their birth families. Placements can range from a few days to several years, and your role will include:

- Acting as a positive role model
- Supporting education and development
- Providing new experiences and enrichment opportunities
- Promoting physical and emotional well-being
- Encouraging contact with birth families where appropriate
- Keeping simple records of progress and achievements

**Who Can Foster?**

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. You **do not** need prior experience - just the right attitude and environment. To apply, you must:

- Be **21 years or older**:

- Have **at least one spare bedroom**:

- Hold **permanent leave to remain in the UK**:

- Have a **clear enhanced DBS check** (Disclosure and Barring Service)

**Weekly Allowances & Pay**

You’ll receive a **weekly fostering allowance** that covers the child’s needs and includes a professional fee for your role. Rates vary depending on the complexity of the placement:

- Standard fostering: £500+ per week
- Complex needs, parent & child, or therapeutic fostering: up to **£1,500 per week** (largely tax-free)
