Procurement Manager Permanent Newark £50K pa Benefits: Medical Cover, Life assurance, 33 days holiday Inc stats and free parking Our Newark based client is looking to grow their existing procurement team. Duties and responsibilities of the Procurement Manager would include: - Ensure alignment of relevant Category Strategies with global Company policies. - Analyse, understand and co-ordinate allocated category markets to ensure that "value for money" is consistently achieved. - Define, propose and implement strategies specific to the categories allocated that adhere to the overall Procurement Strategy. - Continually assess the fit between EPD strategies and Business Unit/Manufacturing unit local needs and amend if necessary. - Ensure that views and suggestions made by local Procurement authorities are incorporated, where validated, into EPD strategies and tactics. - Select appropriate suppliers who can deliver the service criteria that best meet the category strategy. - Construct, negotiate, implement and authorise appropriate supply and service level agreements (Framework Purchase Agreement (FPA) /Service Level Agreement (SLA)) that achieve the required cost, delivery, quality and service targets. - Control and monitor expenditure categories and define direction and opportunities. - To provide commercial Procurement support (including contractual advice) to local and European internal clients for the allocated categories. - Develop relationships with selected suppliers based on the agreed category strategy and criticality analysis. - Provide recommendations for Business Unit budgeting. - Implement effective supplier performance measures, analyse and monitor supplier performance, identify shortfalls and proactively propose countermeasures to achieve the required targets and enable continuous improvement. - Propose developments to Procurement Systems and Procedures and suggest potential goals and strategies that enable the Category management team to continually improve the service being provided. - To lead and/or participate in Supplier development teams in order to generate specific improvements for the company. - To identify opportunities for value/ concurrent engineering and ensure these are implemented. - To support and implement group technical and new product initiatives with external supply companies **Qualifications**: - Graduate Level - CIPS qualification or equivent **_Skills & Knowledge_** - Language - English Polish Mandarin/Cantonese - Passion for achievements - Good communications and persuasion skills. - Determined and Persistent. - Negotiation skills. - Results driven - Microsoft IT skills - advanced. - Well organised and systematic **_Experience_** - Minimum 5 years’ experience in Procurement. - Knowledge and experience of current Procurement best practice. - Experience gained from Automotive/FMCG industries. - Basic knowledge about Concurrent engineering techniques. - Cost Analysis knowledge. - Performance management systems.
