The One Group are pleased to be working with a market leading automotive testing and development company in Bedfordshire who offer there services to a range of customers and are seeking a Principal Engineer to join their Durability and Measurement function.
The durability and measurement group focus on whole vehicle testing on test tracks and public roads. Testing within this domain includes structural and powertrain durability, corrosion, QA, NVH and road load data to name a few.
As a Principal Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and leadership to the test engineers within the group as well as supporting managers with procedures development, quality, customer discussions and project proposals.
The day to day responsibilities include:

- Provide technical guidance and leadership to test engineers
- Validate test methodologies and analysis
- Develop test procedures to meet ISO17012 standards
- Lead the integration and cross-pollination of Durability and Measurement tests
- Data analysis and lead improvement activities

What we are looking for:

- Vehicle testing and development experience with a relevant engineering degree
- Detailed knowledge of Glyphworks, DeweSoft, Vibration and noise data, strain gauging and road load data, durability and fatigue and vehicle corrosion
- Confident at dealing with commercial enquiries and explaining complex technical issues to a non-technical audience
- Exposure to military/defence programmes would be beneficial
