Skills Tutor
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a training company based in Greater Manchester who have won several new contracts to work as a Skills Tutor.
Since 2009 they have helped hundreds of people with a pass rate of 97.4%, helping learners to find work and achieve their potential.
They are a caring organisation with a professional and vibrant team who treat learners and employees as family, to support their growth and development and to build their confidence and self-belief.
They are currently looking for Tutors to join their team who have experience in Health and Social Care or Teaching Assistant roles to deliver qualifications up to Level 3.
The role will involve working with a caseload of learners where you will act as their skills trainer, planning and delivering teaching and learning sessions, marking and assessing activities and providing a positive learning environment.
This position offers a basic salary of up to £25000 and you will need a full driver’s licence and access to your own car as travel will be required to centres around the Greater Manchester area.
Purpose of the role of Skills Tutor:

- Develop and deliver training to a high standard to your caseload of both employed and unemployed learners.
- Plan and prepare teaching, learning and assessment plans for each session with groups of up to 15 learners.
- Deliver quality sessions both face to face and remotely as required.
- Promote the curriculum offer to employers to generate 15% of your own caseload of learners.
- Work closely with learners and employers to ensure a timely completion of qualifications.
- Support learners through their recruitment, initial assessments and create action plans to support individual needs as appropriate.
- Ensure accurate records are kept and present portfolios for internal verification and certification as required.
- Have a flexible approach to delivery and be prepared to deliver under any discipline where you hold experience and competence.
Skills, experience and qualifications required for the position of Skills Tutor:

- Level 3 qualified in Health and Social Care or Teaching Assistant roles.
- Hold Functional Skills at Level 2 in Maths and English and IT.
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification at Level 4 or above (CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, etc).
- Previous experience of delivering qualifications in a Health and Social Care or Teaching Assistant setting.
- Vocational competence or work experience within a Healthcare or Educational setting.
- Have previous experience and understanding of curriculum development, innovation, and delivery strategies.
