**Job summary**
**Why is this role important and how does it fit into the team, department & wider firm?**
Full responsibility for maintaining the client ledger by the accurate receiving in, and execution of client financial transactions in accordance with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and the Firm’s policy.

**What is the working practice for this role?**
The firm operates a set of core principles that guides our working practice as we journey out of the restrictions put in place because of the pandemic. It’s called ‘One Firm, Wherever You Are’.
You might have enjoyed working from home and would like to split your time between there and the office. Others may be eager to return to the office on a more regular basis. Our approach enables you to choose where you work - where business, team and client demands allow. The Finance department work a minimum of two days per week in the office - Monday and one other day of your choice.

**Person specification**
**What technical skills are required for someone to be successful and enjoy the role?**
- Experience of using legal accounting software and bank electronic payment software is essential
- Must be IT literate and have good keyboard skills - knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word is desirable

**Who would be a good fit for this role?**
As part of the finance team, you would be expected to have the following skills and experience:

- This is a responsible position requiring an intelligent cashier who is self-motivated and can operate without supervision on their own initiative
- Must possess a ‘can-do’ attitude
- The ability to work accurately and adhere to critical deadlines under considerable time pressure
- Ability to work in a logical and methodical manner
- Confident, articulate and adept in obtaining (and where necessary challenging)
- Information gathering on own initiative in order to progress processing and meet targets
- Ability to build strong working relationships with senior management and partners within the organisation
- A robust approach to relationships and interactions with colleagues and a positive attitude is essential
- The finance department is often a lively and pressurised environment and the job holder should recognise and respond positively to this as appropriate.
