**Assistant Development Manager / Product Development Engineer**
**Permanent**
**Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm**

Our client is a large and growing food manufacturer, who are looking for an Assistant Development Manager / Product Development Engineer, to help deliver sales and margin growth, by supporting new and existing product development projects & working closelywith customers, suppliers, and internal colleagues to give best customer service.
**Assistant Development Manager / Product Development Engineer**
- Build and manage solid trusting working relationships with customers and suppliers, with regular contact through meetings/communications
- Manage designated strategic customers, from a product development perspective and ensure their product needs are fulfilled, reacting positively to development briefs & requests
- ‘New Customers’ working cross functionally with sales function, to identify and pursue any new customers to the core business
- Conduct regular & relevant food presentations, with products that are customer and brand focused
- Develop commercially viable products that satisfy the customer’s needs and have a positive impact on the company’s portfolio of products
- Research the market, identify opportunities for customers and company. Pursue opportunities seeking new or working with current suppliers to develop successful products
- Manage NPD and EPD projects effectively from start to finish, ensuring product briefs are fulfilled and all deadlines are met within timescales.
- Manage outgoing NPD samples to ensure customers receive required products
- Request specifications / initial product information and track in NPD tracker to make the sample submission process simpler, linking in with technical department, at all stages of projects
- Keep up to date with of food & market trends, working closely with the marketing team

**Essential Skills**:

- Experience in food development
- Experience within a back of house in branded pub/restaurants/QSR/retail environment
- Culinary skills to develop innovative products
