Senior Instrument Designer

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Instrument Designer to work on a PAYE Contract. This role will be based in our Clients officces in Aberdeen Offices and hybrid working is required 3 days per week. Must have extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. Offshore trips will be required.

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Instrument Designer to work on a PAYE contract working outside IR35. This role will be based in our Clients Offices in Aberdeen and hybrid working is required 3 days per week. Must have extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. Offshore trips will be required,
- Prepares engineering drawings in their discipline area from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures
- Create designs and sketch out detailed plans for projects such as commercial, industrial, and civil sector structures and plant and/or manufactured products and systems
- Plans and carries out technical assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Capable of handling assignments which involve a variety of procedures and techniques
- Undertakes technical assignments that are a significant part of an ongoing engineering programPrepares mechanical or digital drawings, diagrams or blueprints and/or models of various products or structures, using computer-aided drafting (CAD) and/or computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) softwareQualifications:

- BSc, BEng or equivalent professional qualification or HND or equivalent.
- Must have valid Offshore Certs and be willing to go offshore

Knowledge, skills and experience:

- A full understanding of the materials and methods normally used in their discipline
- An understanding of related engineering principles and practices, plus training and diversified experience in the field of activity is required
- Capable of interpreting key documents including; engineering standards, piping material specifications, P&IDs and Line Lists
- Technically oriented, mechanically inclined, good at mathematics and talented at translating intangible concepts into hands-on project plans
- Competent user of CAD/D software
