Gemz Threadz is a thriving printing and embroidery family business based in Basildon, Essex, specialising in branded sportswear, workwear, and personalised clothing. Starting from a hobby in 2020, we’ve grown into a fast-growing business operating from two warehouse units, supplying sports clubs, schools, and businesses with high-quality branded garments. We pride ourselves on our fast turnaround times, attention to detail, and excellent customer service — and we’re looking for an experienced Embroidery & Printing Operator to join our growing team.

**The Role**

We’re seeking a skilled and experienced Embroidery & Printing Operator to join us part-time (3 days per week). You’ll play a key role in the production of custom sportswear and workwear, running embroidery and print machines to a high professional standard. You’ll need strong technical knowledge, an eye for quality, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet customer deadlines.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate and maintain multi-head embroidery machines which is currently an industrial Happy 6 head embroidery machine & 2x commercial Brother PR’s.
- Operate garment printing equipment including vinyl, DTF, sublimation, and heat press machines. Current equipment includes Hotronix Fusion IQ & Hotronix 360 Fusion IQ Hat Press.
- Prepare artwork and digitised designs for production.
- Brief & liaise with Digitizer to ensure designs are accurate.
- Interpret and work from embroidery design files (DST, EMB, etc.)
- Accurately hoop and align garments to ensure consistent embroidery placement.
- Perform machine setup, threading, tension adjustments, and basic maintenance.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure all garments meet company standards.
- Trim and pack finished embroidered garments
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
- Assist with packaging, order preparation, and stock management as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the Gemz Threadz team so that orders are dispatched on time.

**Skills & Experience Required**
- Proven experience operating embroidery machines in a commercial & Embroidery setting. Experience in multi heads an advantage.
- Knowledge of branding for sports clubs, schools, and corporate workwear.
- Experience with vinyl, DTF, and heat transfer printing methods.
- Understanding of backing, tension, thread types, and embroidery finishing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common production issues.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently when required.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage workflow efficiently.
- Problem-solving ability and decision-making skills in a fast paced production environment.

**Desirable but Not Essential**
- Experience using software such as Wilcom, Pulse, CorelDRAW, or Adobe Illustrator and Canva.
- Creative eye for colour, layout, and presentation.

Pay: £12.50-£14.30 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 30 per week
