Management Accountant

Alexander Steele is currently working in partnership with a very well-established food production business based in the Scottish Borders. Due to rapid growth, they are now seeking to recruit a management accountant to join their finance team. You will beworking closely with the Financial Controller to improve the quality of decision making in key operational measures.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience and insight across the finance function while making an impact by identifying process improvements to increase efficiency.
**The Role**
- Manage routine weekly and monthly reporting to agreed time targets.
- Manage the production of product costing valuations to agreed time targets.
- Maintain and manage the costing infrastructure: Labour rates, overhead rates and statistical key figures that drive them.
- Manage the cost accounting month end on SAP ensuring required control and update reports are run correctly.
- Contribute to annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and other business plans.
- Provide agreed inputs to finance team for monthly management accounts.
- Mon - Fri 8am until 4pm 3.5 days WFH and 1.5 days onsite.
- Newly Qualified or Part Qualified actively working towards CIMA/ACCA/CA.
- Well Developed IT skills, particularly Excel and experience using SAP or other ERP Programs.
- Good technical knowledge and understanding of cost accounting, MRP systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with colleagues at all levels, particularly non-financial staff.
- Experience in a similar management accounting role within a manufacturing environment preferred but not essential.
- Strong problem solving and financial analysis skills
