Legal Secretary

Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a legal secretary to join our highly regarded, well-established niche firm within our Court of Protection department.

Based in Hoylake on the Wirral, we represent clients in several areas, including North and mid Wales.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Previous experience working in a firm of solicitors.
- Previous legal experience in mental health law is desirable
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and a desire to work in this area
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Tact and resilience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Competent in the use of Information Technology

**Key tasks & responsibilities**
- Fast and accurate audio typing, accurate production of correspondence and documents using digital dictation.
- Able to produce a high standard of work often to tight deadlines whilst maintain accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
- File opening, closure and archiving.
- Speaking to clients, experts, hospitals and courts on telephone and taking detailed yet concise messages and assisting when appropriate.
- Managing fee earners diaries, updating key dates and appointments.
- Accurate completion of time recording.
- Maintaining careful checks that all deadlines are met.
- Photocopying, scanning, printing, filing and other general admin tasks.
- Ability to prioritise and cope with changing demands.
