**The role: Assistant Underwriter**

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced **Assistant Underwriter **to join our Financial Lines team based in Bristol

You will be expected to carry out a wide range of underwriting and administration activities relating to authorised products. The role will be involved in executing the company strategy and contributing to the achievement of our financial plans. In addition, the role is responsible for providing a superior customer service and delivering the required product profitability.

This position could suit someone from either a Commercial Insurance/Financial Lines background looking to move in to underwriting or someone in a professional/financial services administration type role looking to move into insurance

Whilst based in Bristol, the role does offer work from home flexibility with the expectation to only be in the office twice per week.

**We will rely on you to**:

- Contribute to and implement the underwriting strategy for all products, working within our established risk appetite
- Directly contribute towards financial KPI’s, including balancing the achievement of revenue without any detriment to underwriting profitability
- Deliver Marsh/Victor service levels on all authorised products
- Ensure that TCF is a part of the organisation’s culture and behaviours
- Have awareness of and ensure adherence of all regulatory requirements, guidelines and working practices - both internally and externally
- Manage quality first and underwriting peer review requirements to identify areas for underwriting and product improvement
- Act within underwriting authority
- Build strong relationships with broking partners
- Build strong relationship with internal stakeholders
- Be responsible for own personal technical and skill set progression
- Complete project work as per briefs and provide appropriate feedback as to projects goals and aim
- Provide administration and servicing support to the team and individual underwriters as required

- An understanding of the commercial insurance market
- Experience of working in teams and successful record of delivering results
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational skills to ensure that company processes and procedures are maintained
- Communicating, influencing, negotiating and relationship building skills
- Strong customer service ethos
- Strong personal drive and results orientation
