Join Our Supportive & Dynamic Paediatric Team
Are you a highly experienced and compassionate Children’s Physiotherapist ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a motivated Band 7 Children’s Physiotherapist to lead our mainstream service at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. The post is a permanent part time role of 30 hours per week.
At Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, we are dedicated to delivering outstanding care to children and families. Our multidisciplinary team (MDT) works collaboratively to provide person-centred care that makes a real difference. We are seeking someone who is highly motivate, passionate and offers expert knowledge within this clinical area to come and join our children’s physiotherapy team and help to continue delivering exceptional services. The children’s therapy team prides itself as being part of the wider MDT which comprises of Occupational therapy and speech and language therapy.
As a clinical lead you will provide expert clinical leadership, support and development to our children's physiotherapy team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high quality care, ensuring best practice and fostering a positive and innovative team environment. You will also liaise closely with families, other health professionals and local agencies to coordinate and enhance service delivery. The role requires someone who can offer expert assessment and treatment for children and young people with neurological, neuro-development, respiratory and orthopaedic conditions. You will need the ability to travel around the community and provide support in hospital and a number of community settings.

**Main duties**
- Provide detailed expert assessments for children, leading to clinical diagnosis of neurological, neuro-developmental, respiratory, and orthopaedic conditions.
- Provide effective holistic and age-appropriate physiotherapy treatment of children in a suitable environment and hold a patient caseload.
- Have a key role in facilitating a child’s maximum physical potential and support inclusion into education and leisure activities.
- Advise, train and educate parents, carers and other professionals from health, education, social services and voluntary services involved in the management of the child
- Develop key working relationships with both service users, families and wider MDT and implement this in both health and educational settings.
- Lead by example demonstrating advanced clinical skills and collaborative working and be accessible to the team to share this knowledge.
- Provide flexible response to managing service demand.
- Participate & co-ordinate the evaluation of all aspects of mainstream service and wider children’s physiotherapy team. Provide clinical leadership of the children’s mainstream service including service planning & monitoring, effective collaborative working with other health, social and education colleagues.
- Take the lead role for management of the clinical area. Support team leader with operational duties and non-clinical roles when required
- Supporting other team members by providing clinical and non-clinical supervision and appraisals for Band 6s, 5s and support staff.
- Be proactive in self-development and demonstrating initiative in promoting innovative approach to service development
- Working closely with the team lead and other clinical leads to develop the service and promote excellent patient experience in line with the trust vision.

- Maintain own professional development and demonstrate high standards of clinical performance and professional practice
- To deputise for the team lead & therapy service lead as required. To support therapy team lead in delivery of service improvements and provide advanced clinical knowledge in relation to service development.
- To liaise and refer to other agencies relevant for care, including other NHS organisations, voluntary sector, education and social care.
- To undertake progression and development of the services.
- Provide specialist clinical expertise to colleagues within the team and referrers to the service.
- To organise and participate in, clinical supervision in a timely manner, offering clinical support to the team as and when required. To ensure effective learning opportunities take place to achieve outcomes for self & the team through mentorship and formal study
