To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients, the Department of Psychology and Psychological Therapies, within both a Medium Secure and Low Secure Mental Health Hospital. This
will include providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a
qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. Furthermore, to assist in clinically-related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Assistant Psychologist to join a supportive, inclusive and diverse forensic team within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. The postholder will have access to and supervision from a range of qualified Practitioner Psychologists, in providing specialist assessment and intervention for men who are considered a risk of harm to others and who display problematic personality traits and/or symptoms of mental health issues. The role will also include clinically-related administration, development and conduction of audit and/or research projects, teaching and wider service project work.
This exciting full-time position is split between Woodlands House (Low Secure Forensic Unit) in Aylesbury and Marlborough House (Medium Secure Forensic Unit) in Milton Keynes. There may also be times the postholder will be expected to visit other service bases as required within the Thames Valley region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing experience as an Assistant Psychologist.
