Ruskin Mill College provides innovative and experiential education and training for young people marginalised by disadvantage, exclusion or special learning needs. Inspired by Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin, the college actively promotes, through craftsmanship and entrepreneurship, the traditional economic activities of the Cotswolds.
**Day Time Support Worker**
**40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year (term time only)**
Once qualified in L3 Health and Social Care there is a potential to earn up to £22,736 (FTE) after further completion fo relevant RMT courses and increased length of service
An opportunity has become available to join Ruskin Mill College, Ruskin Mill Trust, as part of the committed Day Time Support Team focusing on the holistic needs of the students. This role is challenging and rewarding. We are looking for people with great character and a desire to make a positive impact on young people’s lives, and to provide students with support and guidance to help them engage in timetabled sessions in a safe and appropriate way.

**To be successful in this role you will**:
- Have a strong desire to support young people, have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential
- Be patient, caring, compassionate with a young person-centred nature
- Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations with emotional intelligence and resilience, and to have the capacity to react calmly in stressful situations
- Be a team player with experience of support work in both educational and residential settings
An NVQ 3 in Health and Social Work would be desirable, but not essential, as Ruskin Mill Trust will provide comprehensive training and support.
