**Associate Pensions Consultant (Specialist Team)**
**Aon is recruiting for an Associate Pensions Consultantto join one of our market leading specialist consulting teams** (part of our broader UK Retirement Consulting business) as a permanent role. Based from any of our officesnationally (and we will support virtual and flexible working) you will be responsible for effectively contributing to the overall delivery of exceptional client service, either directly or in support of wider team members.

When there is no Government work from home directive, then the majority of colleagues in Aon's Retirement Consulting business are spending about half their time in an office and half their time working from home, but please discuss with us if your expectationsare different.In response to changing working habits we have developed a completely virtual onboarding programme, alongside our existing in-person programme, that will allow you to get up to speed and integrated in whichever work environment suits you.
**Your role as an Associate Pensions Consultant (Specialist team)**:

- Have an in-depth understanding of the defined benefit pensions environment, from the viewpoint of pensions administration, project management, actuarial pension consultancy, insurer working in pensions or IFA working in pensions.
- There are a range of roles available that could include some or all of:

- Building strong relationships with each client, their administrators, and other stakeholders alongside ongoing client teams.
- Developing client action plans and ensuring timely and efficient project management of these.
- Using knowledge of pension practices to help design and implement efficient processes including taking ownership to improve parts of standard processes.
- Taking ownership of data issues including advising on appropriate formatting and transfer of data between parties.
- Using technical knowledge to carry out client specific calculations.
- Producing and delivering clear and accurate internal and client correspondence, reports, papers, presentations etc.
- Ensure appropriate legislative, regulatory, business, practice and professional standards are followed.
- Ensure Aon’s risk management and data protocols are adhered to.

In our specialist teams you will have access to experts on a day-to-day basis and the chance to build transferable skills, enabling you to take advantage of the wide-ranging opportunities we offer.
We can also help shape a role for you that meets your skills and interests. You will have the opportunity to select the specialism of your choice and focus on the right area for you, such as project management, process development, technical calculations andadvice or a combination of these areas. Alternatively, you may wish to spend part of your time in our day-to-day consulting team, supporting our Scheme Actuaries or Corporate Pension Consultants.
**You bring skills & expertise**:

- Relevant industry knowledge and or consulting knowledge.
- Good understanding of defined benefit pensions or a willingness to learn.
- Good knowledge of Aon’s products, people and tools or a willingness to learn.
- Ability to deliver effective client service to multiple clients within agreed financial and time budgets.
- Experience/track record in relationship management and/or project management and/or technical analysis.
- You may be part or fully qualified in a relevant Professional qualification (e.g. APMI, FIA etc.) although this is not a requirement.
