**Mechanical Engineer 3 month Summer Placement Student**

We have a fantastic opportunity for a 3 month Mechanical Engineer Summer placement student at Siemens Healthineers - Magnet Technology (MT), near Oxford. We’re an international organisation that works for people to live longer, more fulfilled, and happier lives. SMT are the global leader in our field, with 30% of the MRI systems around the world containing our superconducting magnets at the heart.

**The role**:
Working as part of a team to support and develop various aspects of superconducting magnet design and manufacture, in disciplines typically, but not limited to, structural, dynamic, thermodynamic and materials.

Working independently on a design project to design and manufacture test facilities to develop the next generation of superconducting magnets. Carrying out experiments, analysing results and reporting conclusions, both in written reports and verbally in meetings.

Support both production on the factory floor and the Customer Support team.

You will be working towards a 2:1 (or above) in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Natural Sciences and be looking to complete a year in industry as part of your degree.

A keen inherent interest in Mechanical Engineering and the physical and technical world around us.

A good team player, but also self-motivated and able to work independently

Good problem solving and reasoning skills

Capable of learning and retaining new skills
