The Grand, York is looking for a driven individual that will manage the goods and deliveries moving into the hotel on a daily basis and ensure these deliveries reach the relevant departments as well as maintaing security of delivery areas. As a Goods Receiver / Yard Controller you will be responsible for maintaining clear and organised records of all incoming goods, verifying they have arrived as per delivery note and agreed quantity received, advise a senior member of the department of missing goods and anomalies and liaising with suppliers in regards to any discrepancies in deliveries.

Your tasks will include storing the items of the food deliveries in the relevant fridges / freezers / dry stores, adhering to stock rotation procedures, ensuring food is delivered at the acceptable temperature and quality, and correctly recorded. As a Goods Receiver you will be responsible for maintaining walk in freezers & chillers tidy and any short shelf life item is reported to senior chef, while understanding and striclty following HACCP and Saeker procedures and policies.

Other duties as a Goods Receiver / Yard Controller will include keeping yard area clean and tidy including bin stores and compacting cardboard waste, directing contractors and suppliers to the relevant departments, Jet washing public outdoor areas, daily hotel perimeter checks for faults and litter, supporting our Maintenance team with maintaining good condition of hotel equipment, completing all other reasonable tasks required by a senior manager and ensuring paperwork is passed to the Finance Team promptly.
