**About The Role**:
Here at CarFinance 247 we are currently recruiting for a Risk & Compliance Officer to join our team. This role is a new position and supports the newly created ‘Group Risk’ function within our business. The primary purpose of the Risk & Compliance Officer role is to support the Operational Compliance Team in identifying and communicating regulatory developments, giving advice and support to the business in a 2nd line capacity and working closely with colleagues across the business on a daily basis.
**Responsibilities for the Risk & Compliance Officer**:
**_ Advice & Guidance_**
- Provide advice and guidance to staff in the development and review of operational documents, processes, and procedures to ensure effective compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide assessment and challenge of financial promotions in accordance with the CF247 Acquisition, Partnerships & Advertising Handbook.
- Investigate and decide the appropriate action on financial crime-related matters escalated by the business. This will include assessment of Suspicious Activity Reports.
- Oversee and maintain records held by Operational Compliance (such as the Gifts and Hospitality register).
**_Policy & Training_**
- Support the team’s regulatory horizon scanning coverage, creating summary communications to relevant stakeholders where required.
- Support the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager with the ongoing review, development and embedding of the firm’s Risk & Compliance policies, including the communication and training surrounding these.
**_Development_**
- Prioritise and manage own workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Identify gaps in specific knowledge areas and seek out guidance or advice from colleagues or Line Management as appropriate.
**About You**:
- Experience of working in a compliance or conduct-focused role, ideally with exposure to consumer credit and/or general insurance regulation.
- Working knowledge of the applicable regulatory expectations in the motor finance sector.
- Confident to challenge others and act as a role model for “doing the right thing”.
- An ability to communicate complex ideas in a non-technical way.
- Proportionate approach, ability to give advice backed by sound reasoning.
- Drive and passion to continually raise the bar and lead the risk and compliance agenda across multiple business areas.
