MAIN DUTIES
- Assist with the planning and organization of a wide variety of activities for the children that are suitable to their individual stages of development.
- Help with maintaining child records, ensuring they are accurate, well-written and up to date such reports, observations, accident/incident forms etc.
- Build relationships and strong partnerships with the parents.
- Ensure the provision of a high-quality and inclusive environment to meet the needs of individual children.
- Ensure the maintenance of adequate standards of cleanliness and hygiene for the children attending the nursery. This includes changing nappies and toilet training.
- Assist with serving and washing up the children’s lunches and snacks.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed.
- Understand that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility and act accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS
- None required.
PERSONAL QUALITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- A willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification recognised by the DfE for counting in the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework staff: child ratios.
- A desire to learn about how children develop and the ways they enjoy learning.
- A desire to learn about safeguarding principles.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and flexible.
- A can-do attitude.
- Strong communicator with both children and adults.
REPORTING
- Reports to the Room Lead, or in their absence the manager, deputy manager or most senior practitioner on site
