Job Description - Parish Admin at STMOT

Are you a well-organised, warm-hearted individual with a passion for community and a calling to serve the Church? We are seeking a dedicated **Parish Administrator** to support the life and mission of **St Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church** in St Margaret’s-on-Thames.

This is a wonderful opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day life of our vibrant parish—working closely with our Parish Priest, volunteers, and parishioners to ensure the smooth running of parish administration and pastoral activities.

**What you’ll be doing**:
You’ll be at the centre of the parish’s operations, ensuring everything from communication to event planning runs seamlessly. Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing administrative support to the Parish Priest and parish team
- Preparing newsletters, Mass sheets, certificates, and correspondence
- Managing parish records, diaries, and booking systems
- Acting as the first point of contact for parishioners and visitors
- Supporting sacramental programmes and liturgical events (e.g. baptisms, weddings, RCIA)
- Coordinating parish communications, including digital platforms and noticeboards
- Liaising with diocesan contacts, suppliers, and contractors as needed

**What we’re looking for**:
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, personable, and passionate about working in a faith-based environment. You should have:
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills

A friendly, calm, and professional manner

Confidence working independently and using your initiative

Great communication skills and a sensitive, discreet approach

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

An understanding of the Catholic Church and a desire to support its mission

Experience in a parish or faith-based organisation is welcome but not essential—what matters most is your heart for service and willingness to grow in the role.

**What we offer you**:
In return for your hard work and commitment to us, you will receive a competitive reward package which will include, but is not limited to:

- 23 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata for part time employees)
- Vouchers for free eye tests and £50 towards the cost of glasses
- Reward Gateway scheme offering discounts on a wide range of products and services
- Pension scheme for eligible employees - 5% paid by the employer
- Salary exchange (salary sacrifice) for pension
- Cycle to work scheme
- Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Life assurance/ Death in Service benefit
