Packing Team Leader

The Packaging team leader is responsible for supporting the yard supervisor/manager in the day to day running of the team, duties will also include all as per the FLT operator responsibilities.

One of the key responsibilities is to ensure all forklift operators adhere to the site health and safety rules and operate the truck in a safe and competent manner, understand all jobs require high accuracy and dependability.

Part of the team leader’s role is to assist the yard supervisor with the organisation of the team, constant observations of the yard and surrounding external areas to ensure all areas are clean, tidy, organised and any issues are reported. The team leader will, on occasions, also be communicating with other departments ensuring factory requirements and procedures are adhered to.

Ensure all packaging areas are organised and no unauthorised staff enter the packaging stores.

**Packaging Team Leader (DAY SHIFT)**
Days of work: Wednesday - Saturday
Hours of work: 05:00 - 17:00
Pay: starting at £12.50 per hour (level 1), climbing to £12.75 per hour (level 2)

Main duties:

- Supporting the yard Supervisor/Manager.
- Assisting the FLT operatives in carrying out their roles and responsibilities
- Support production’s requirements in a timely & safe manner
- Assisting all drivers in emptying mobile waste skips into waste trailers - Following correct work practice.
- Ensure the signing in procedure is followed correctly for any receipted deliveries, with any discrepancies highlighted to the yard supervisor/manager
- Ensure all delivery notes are signed and handed over to the yard supervisor/manager
- Assisting the yard/packaging supervisor with allocating day to day team duties within the team
- Ability to prioritise workload ensuring no delays to production requirements
- Checking the safety and maintenance of the FLT’s (any other company equipment that is used) and reporting all issues following the correct procedure (when necessary)
- Operate the FLT’s in a safe and controlled manner and help assist the supervisor to oversee all other drivers, how they conduct themselves and ensure all procedures are followed.
- Ensure all staff are fulfilling their duties on a daily/nightly basis
- Liaise/handover with the dayshift supervisors at the start and end of the shift
- Monitor fruit waste trailers to ensure they are being filled correctly
- Support yard/packaging supervisor in reporting when a trailer or waste compactor is full.
- Provide customer tray stock counts and ensure relevant departments have been informed
- Provide packaging stock counts and ensure relevant departments have been informed
- Provide CHEP pallet stock counts and ensure relevant departments have been informed
- Always ensure the PrepWorld ways of working are promoted and adhered too
