We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a **Veterinary Patient Care Assistant at Pennine Vets.**
**You will join us on a** **full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week, covering Monday - Friday and a 1:4 share in the Saturday rota. There will be no OOH or Sunday working**
The shift pattern during the week will be between 08.00 - 19.00 and Saturdays will be 09.00 - 17.00. You'll be working across our 2 sites in Harwood and Tottington, so the ability to travel is essential.

**About the role**:
The Patient Care Assistant role is one of the foundations of an outstanding veterinary practice, as a PCA you will be involved in supporting our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide outstanding care to our patients, working alongside a passionate and lovely team of people.
This role will involve animal handling, assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment, cleaning, walking and feeding patients, general cleaning and maintenance duties and reception cover when needed including answering phone calls, greeting clients and providing the highest standards of animal and customer care.
**What we're looking for in our Veterinary Patient Care Assistant**:
- An excellent communicator with strong empathy
- Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
- Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating and handling and a high level of understanding of how to meet the welfare needs of animals
- Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
- A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
- An understanding of health and safety and being comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Experience in looking after animals in a veterinary environment would be desirable
