We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Estates to join the team based in the Cathedral and Cloisters offices in Chichester.

Hours: Full Time - 35 hours per week
**Salary**: £50,000

The Role
As Head of Estates, you will manage a team of three and have responsibility for developing and leading on the implementation of an estate strategy for the Cathedral quarter that supports the vision and values of the Cathedral. It's a varied role, no two days will be the same, from shaping the 5 years' cyclical estates plan to responding to a maintenance emergency.
As a member of the Cathedral's Senior Management Group you will work with colleagues from across the Cathedral who are highly-committed individuals who manage our Christian music and liturgy as well as driving the more traditional trading and revenue lines and ensuring good governance and a safe environment. Using the skills and competences that you will have developed in previous roles, you will work with your management team colleagues in looking for innovative ways in which we can deliver our mission within a tight cost environment.
As the Head of Estates, you will be responsible for:
*Developing and implementing a robust estate strategy (including exciting new projects to maintain our historic Cathedral and scheduled and reactive work programmes) supporting our mission and values;
*Overseeing the contracts management, including utilities and waste management, ensuring efficiency and value for money.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a professional qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience and you will have an H&S qualification like NEBOSH or IOSH (or be willing to undertake one after you join). You will have had experience in a similar role, preferably with responsibility for an historic building or an interest in historic buildings and an understanding of what makes them special. As a colleague, you will be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of people from the Cathedral Architect to members of the public with an interest in the Cathedral.

It is the Mother Church of the Diocese of Chichester which covers East and West Sussex and it is also a visitor attraction, a venue for music and the arts and an all-round hub for the community welcoming over 350,000 visitors each year.
